World Cup 2023 : Abrar Ahmed likely to replace shadab khan in match against New Zeland :

Pakistan's vice-captain Shadab Khan's participation in the World Cup match against New Zealand is uncertain due to a concussion sustained during their previous game. Leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed is likely to step in as his replacement.

Shadab suffered the concussion after an awkward landing during the match against South Africa, leading to his exclusion from the subsequent match against Bangladesh, with Usama Mir taking his place. Despite participating in a practice session in Bengaluru, a late decision on Shadab's fitness is expected.

According to official sources from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Ahmed is expected to be included in the national team for the crucial match against New Zealand on November 4.

Mickey Arthur, the team director, highlighted the importance of proper assessment for Shadab's injury, stating that a comprehensive evaluation is necessary before a decision can be made. With Pakistan currently in fifth place and targeting a semi-final spot, Arthur emphasized the significance of the upcoming matches against New Zealand and defending champions England as crucial must-win contests.
