Rupee To Continue losses against US Dollar in coming weak :

The Pakistani rupee is anticipated to continue its depreciation against the US dollar in the upcoming week, primarily due to heightened demand for the greenback from importers. The presence of an IMF delegation in Pakistan for loan program review discussions has added to the rupee's volatility. The recent five sessions in the interbank market saw the rupee lose 1.19% against the dollar, closing at 280.95 on Monday and 284.31 on Friday.

Although successful talks with the IMF could secure Pakistan a second loan tranche of around $700 million, the currency is expected to remain under pressure, with limited dollar inflows from exporters. Notably, forward premiums for 1, 2, and 3 months have surged significantly, indicating a dearth of dollar liquidity and higher costs for importers. However, the market foresees a potential recovery for the rupee, with expectations hinging on a favorable assessment from the IMF.

Encouraging economic indicators, such as record-high October exports at $2.7 billion and a decrease in consumer price index inflation from 31.4% to 26.9%, have provided some optimism. Consequently, the Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) Index has surged to an all-time high of over 53k. With the market indicating that interest rates may have peaked in the short to medium-term, the equity market's response reflects the positive sentiment surrounding the rupee's potential trajectory.
