Initially, army would farm on 1,000 acres of land. 

It will then expand to 41,000 acres gradually.

The Pakistan Army plans to commence agricultural farming on 41,000 acres in South Waziristan's Zarmalam area, with an initial focus on 1,000 acres. The goal is to improve agricultural productivity and foster food self-sufficiency. Peshawar Corps Commander Lieutenant General Sardar Hasan Azhar Hayat emphasized the potential for investment in minerals, hydropower, agriculture, and tourism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). Collaboration between the army and the civil government has led to positive outcomes in these sectors, generating employment opportunities. Lt Gen Hayat advocates for community engagement, particularly with the people of merged districts, aiming to bridge the gap between the masses and the armed forces. A provincial government official praised the cooperative relationship between the armed forces and the provincial government, highlighting joint efforts to curb illegal activities. In a similar venture, the Punjab government initially allocated over 45,000 acres to the military for a Corporate Agriculture Farming project, although the Lahore High Court later deemed the land transfer illegal. However, the court's order was suspended in July, allowing the transfer of land to the Pakistan Army for corporate farming on a 20-year lease.
