The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed that at least 14 soldiers were martyred in a terrorist attack on two security force vehicles in Gwadar. The incident occurred during a security convoy's movement from Pasni to Ormara. A sanitization operation in the area has been initiated, and the ISPR assured that the perpetrators would be pursued and brought to justice. The foreign minister strongly condemned the attack, expressing solidarity with the families of the martyred and injured. The surge in terrorism has been a growing concern in Pakistan, with militant outfits like the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) intensifying their activities against security forces. In response, the government has launched operations to combat terrorism. The Chief of Army Staff highlighted the exemplary efforts of the armed forces and intelligence agencies in the fight against terrorism, calling for continued support from the people of Pakistan. A report from the Centre for Research and Security Studies (CRSS) revealed a significant loss of security personnel in the first nine months of 2023, with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan being the primary centers of violence, accounting for the majority of the recorded fatalities and attacks.
